Quick Answer
E06 on Lectric = Throttle signal error — throttle position sensor reading out of range
Severity: Check soon — throttle malfunction · Limited riding OK, diagnose soon
Error E06 on your Lectric indicates: Throttle signal error — throttle position sensor reading out of range.
Check soon — throttle malfunction — Throttle signal error — throttle position sensor reading out of range
Symptoms
- E06 on display; throttle unresponsive or erratic; motor may surge unexpectedly; throttle may work intermittently
Common Causes
- Throttle magnet misaligned inside throttle assembly
- Throttle wire damaged from handlebar impact
- Water inside throttle housing causing signal drift
- Throttle Hall sensor failure
- Throttle spring broken causing magnet to stick
- Aftermarket throttle installed incorrectly
Fix Steps
Step 1: 1. Power off bike and inspect throttle for physical damage or cracks
Step 2: 2. Try spinning the throttle freely — it should return to rest position smoothly
Step 3: 3. If throttle feels sticky: remove throttle grip, clean inside with compressed air, and lubricate lightly
Step 4: 4. Check throttle wire where it exits the handlebar — common pinch point during assembly
Step 5: 5. Unplug throttle connector and inspect for water or corrosion
Step 6: 6. If error persists: replace throttle assembly (~$20-30 from Lectric)
Step 7: 7. IMPORTANT: never install non-Lectric throttle — voltage range differs and causes E06
