Error E03 on your Lectric indicates: Motor phase wire error — controller cannot drive motor properly.
Stop — motor wiring fault — Motor phase wire error — controller cannot drive motor properly
Symptoms
- E03 on display; motor jerks or stutters; grinding noise from rear hub; motor may spin freely with no power
Common Causes
- Motor phase wire disconnected or broken
- Phase wire connector corroded or loose
- Short circuit between phase wires
- Motor hall sensor failure mimicking phase wire issue
- Controller MOSFET failure
- Water damage to motor connector
Fix Steps
Step 1: 1. Power off and remove battery immediately
Step 2: 2. Locate the motor phase wire connector (usually 3 thick wires — green, yellow, blue)
Step 3: 3. Inspect connector for melted pins, corrosion, or loose fit
Step 4: 4. Disconnect, clean with contact cleaner, and reconnect firmly
Step 5: 5. Check phase wires along the chainstay for cuts from chain slap or road debris
Step 6: 6. If any wire is cut: splice with solder and heat shrink — do NOT use wire nuts on phase wires
Step 7: 7. If connector is melted: controller and motor connector replacement needed (~$60-80)
