- Non-Bosch OEM throttle installed with incompatible voltage range
- Throttle return spring broken causing partial signal at rest position
Fix Steps
Step 1: 1. Power off bike — check that the throttle returns to its rest position with a distinct snap
Step 2: 2. If throttle feels sticky or slow to return: remove grip and clean the throttle mechanism
Step 3: 3. Inspect the throttle wire where it exits the handlebar — common pinch point during assembly
Step 4: 4. Unplug the throttle connector at the controller and inspect for water or corroded pins
Step 5: 5. With connector unplugged: measure throttle signal voltage — should be 0.8-1.2V at rest, 3.8-4.2V at full throttle
Step 6: 6. If voltage is outside range: replace the throttle assembly with a Bosch OEM unit only
Step 7: 7. IMPORTANT: aftermarket throttles use different voltage ranges and will trigger Error 14
