Error E07 on your Aventon indicates: Controller overtemperature — motor controller exceeded 85°C internal limit.
Stop — controller overheating — Controller overtemperature — motor controller exceeded 85°C internal limit
Symptoms
- E07 on display; motor cuts all power; controller housing hot to touch; error clears after 15-30 min cooling; may recur on steep hills
Common Causes
- Sustained climbing at maximum assist level in hot weather
- Controller heat sink blocked by frame bag or mud
- Exceeded weight limit causing motor overload
- Riding in Turbo/PAS 5 continuously for 20+ minutes
- Controller MOSFET degradation from repeated overheating
Fix Steps
Step 1: 1. Stop riding immediately — let controller cool 20-30 minutes in shade
Step 2: 2. Remove any frame bags or accessories blocking controller ventilation
Step 3: 3. For future rides: use PAS 3-4 on steep hills instead of PAS 5
Step 4: 4. In hot weather (>30°C): reduce continuous full-power riding to 10-minute intervals
Step 5: 5. Check controller mounting bolts — loose mounting reduces heat transfer to frame
Step 6: 6. If E07 occurs repeatedly on flat ground: controller may have internal damage — contact Aventon support
Step 7: 7. Preventive: pedal more actively to reduce motor load during climbs
