Ride1Up 700 Series/LMT'D/Roadster V2 — Error Code E07
Reviewed by certified eBike technicians · Last updated July 15, 2026
Quick Answer
E07 on Ride1Up = Controller overtemperature — internal controller temperature exceeded 80°C safety threshold
Severity: Stop — controller overheating · Do NOT continue riding
⚠️ STOP RIDING — This error indicates a critical safety issue. Continuing to ride may cause battery damage or safety hazard. Stop and diagnose before continuing.
Error E07 on your Ride1Up indicates: Controller overtemperature — internal controller temperature exceeded 80°C safety threshold.
Stop — controller overheating — Controller overtemperature — internal controller temperature exceeded 80°C safety threshold
Symptoms
- E07 on display; motor cuts all power; controller housing very hot to touch; error may clear after 20-30 minutes cooling; recurs on steep hills or in hot weather
Common Causes
- Sustained full-throttle riding for 15+ minutes without pedal assist
- Steep hill climbing at PAS 5 in ambient temps above 30°C
- Controller heatsink obstructed by frame bag or mud buildup
- Worn motor drawing excessive current and overheating controller
- Repeated thermal cycling degrading MOSFET thermal paste
Fix Steps
Step 1: 1. Stop riding immediately — let controller cool 20-30 minutes in shade, never pour water on it
Step 2: 2. Check controller housing location (typically in frame downtube on 700 Series, seat tube on LMT'D)
Step 3: 3. Remove any frame bags or accessories blocking airflow to controller housing
Step 4: 4. For future rides on hills: use PAS 3-4 with active pedaling instead of throttle-only
Step 5: 5. In hot weather (>30°C): limit continuous full-power riding to 5-minute intervals
Step 6: 6. If E07 occurs on flat ground at moderate assist: controller may have internal damage — contact Ride1Up support
Step 7: 7. Ride1Up controllers under warranty (1 year) can be replaced free of charge
